This year the Saffron Walden Crank Up will be an NTET Authorised Event. The National Traction Engine Trust is the national body looking after the steam preservation movement. Organisers of traction engine rallies and similar events can, if they wish, apply for authorisation. By doing so they agree to comply with a Code of Practice produced by the NTET which is practical and a sensible way of maintaining administrative and organisational standards, thus ensuring that participants and visitors to events have a safe and enjoyable time.
